Call for Applications for the Georgia Teaching Artist Registry

Georgia Council for the Arts

Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA) is currently accepting applications for the Georgia Teaching Artists Registry. The agency is seeking to expand the number of artists on the registry to serve more schools and organizations, as well as to include greater artistic diversity and geographic reach throughout the state. Qualified teaching artists must be a resident of Georgia, must have a combination of training in their artistic field and experience in educational settings, and must be able to pass a background check.

In an effort to provide meaningful resources to schools and organizations, and to help promote the work of our state's best teaching artists, GCA launched the Georgia Teaching Artists Registry. The Registry is comprised of competitively evaluated professionals who are available to deliver performances, workshops, and/or residencies to schools, arts organizations, and communities across a broad geographic region of the state. The Registry is also available to the general public as a resource for those seeking recommendations and guidance for arts and arts education programs.

The Georgia Teaching Artists Registry application form is available online. The application will be submitted through GCA’s online application system, which requires all applicants to begin by creating an account. The application guidelines are available on the GCA website. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, October 25, 2019.

GCA will host an online workshop for the 2019-2020 Georgia Teaching Artists Registry application process on Thursday, September 19, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. To register for the workshop, visit the workshop registration page.

For those unable to participate in the online workshop, a recording of the webinar will be available on this page after September 19th.

If you have questions about the application or selection process, please contact Allen Bell, Arts Education Manager, at abell@gaarts.org.
