Box Office Coordinator

Schwartz Center for Performing Arts

The Schwartz Center Box Office is a unit of the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts in the Emory College of Arts and Sciences.  The box office provides ticketing for the Candler Concert Series, Theater Emory, Emory Dance, the Emory music department, community partners, and occasional additional rental clients. The Box Office Coordinator assists the Box Office Manager in the daily operations, coordinating the training and supervision of a seasonal student employee staff.  In coordination with the Box Office Manager, this position must be available for evening and weekend performances in addition to maintaining a weekly schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Box Office Manager and oversee daily sales and procedures of the Schwartz Center Box Office, including the maintenance of accurate patron information in the Tessitura system.
  • Supervise the closing and balancing of daily sales and event sales.
  • Assist in hiring, training, and scheduling of student staff.
  • Answer patron emails and process web sales daily.
  • Proofread all Arts at Emory materials to ensure accurate event information is distributed to patrons.
  • Tracking of analytics and conversions to assist in sales and marketing efforts.
  • Assist in the writing of subscription materials and automated patron emails.
  • Other duties as required.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2 years’ experience preferred.
  • Box Office experience in a performing arts venue strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Knowledge of cash handling procedures, fiscal responsibility, and PCI compliance a plus.
  • Knowledge of computer based ticketing with experience in Tessitura being a plus.
  • Experience leading and training staff members.
  • Experience working with college students.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with MS Office products.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to communicate with patrons, donors, co-workers and management.
  • Experience using Google analytics.
