About ForefrontArts: We are a mobile children's theatre company with 20+ locations throughout metro-Atlanta. We provide after-school theatre classes, school drama clubs, community theatre youth productions, workshops for schools and libraries, and summer drama camps & performances.

Job Responsibilities: Drama Camp instructors/Teaching Artists oversee the week-long rehearsal process of an app. 30 minute camp show for students in 2nd-8th grade, or our advanced/teen camps for 5th-12th grade. Various camp weeks offer Musical Theatre, Improv, Acting, or a combination of various theatre content. Instructors will oversee casting auditions, lead vocal & physical warmups, follow the camp schedule for rehearsals throughout the day, lead fun improv & drama games, provide basic theatre instruction, and oversee rehearsal of a quality camp show while being kind, firm, upbeat, and encouraging to all students. 2019 summer camp themes include Hamilton Revue, Mary Poppins, Wizard of Oz/Wicked, Shrek the Musical/Fairytales, Pirates & Pixies, Improv, Action/Adventure, and current Broadway hits (Waitress, Moulin Rouge, Be More Chill, etc).

Reliable transportation is a requirement. Teaching Artists may be scheduled at various camp locations throughout the summer (camp locations in Buckhead, Brookhaven, Decatur, Marietta/East Cobb, Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Gwinnett, Tucker, and Chamblee) so they must have their own car. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as kindness & positivity are a MUST for this position.

The right candidate will have a degree in Theatre/Performing Arts/Music/Dance or substantial professional experience, OR be in school currently pursuing a career in Theatre/Performing Arts/Music/Dance. They must be self-motivated, flexible and able to work by oneself, have experience teaching children or teens, be patient and kind, possess a great sense of humor, have reliable transportation, and most importantly, LOVE theatre and kids!

Teaching Artists are hired for 2-10 weeks of the summer for full-time work Mon-Fri, with performances Friday afternoon or evening depending on the week. Teaching Artists may continue to teach with us part time/full time in the school year for our after-school programming, workshops, and productions.

Teaching Artists must provide a current background check, or be willing to have one completed before being offered a position with our company.
