OCA Seeks Artist RFQs for Westside MLK Corridor Gateway

City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs

The City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with Renew Atlanta, invites metro Atlanta artists and artist teams to submit qualifications (resume/CVs) for a site-specific sculpture.

Artist(s) who wish to be considered must submit a resume/CV and photos outlining their prior experience and qualifications for this project. Once an artist is selected, the selected artist must include the sculpture’s foundation, design, engineering and construction costs in their proposal’s budget.

The new installation will reside in Atlanta’s revered westside, home to some of the world’s most respected civil rights leaders including W.E.B. DuBois, Booker T. Washington, and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The proposed artwork should reflect the civic and cultural significance of this area while helping to beautify the western entry point of the MLK Corridor at the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive and Interstate 285 (I-285).

The artwork will be installed in the southeastern triangular landscape area of Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, near the I-285 North exit ramp.

For additional information and qualification requirements, visit our full Call-for-Entry listed on CAFÉ.

The deadline to submit a proposal is January 1, 2019.

For questions, please contact Public Art Project Coordinator Briana X. Camelo at bxcamelo@atlantaga.gov.
